Chocolate Turnovers Anytime
A while back, I was infatuated with Arby’s chocolate turnovers – the soft crusty pastry shell with the gooey, melty, smooth rich chocolate center. Life cannot get any better when I am having one of those. However, finding one presents challenges. First, there is no Arby’s near work or home. Then, the closest one is MILES away (at least a 45-minute car ride) located in a mall food court. There is, of course, a possibility that when I get there, Arby’s has sold out my favorite turnovers. Or, worse yet, a very scary, ultra-unfriendly manager is working her shift!
Then one day, while grocery shopping with my dear husband, we came across Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Turnovers. There are three flavors to choose from including chocolate - Score! With trepidation we bought one box (chocolate) to try, after all what is the worst thing that can happen, right? If we do not like it, we just don’t get it again.
Surprise! They taste just like the Arby’s chocolate turnovers, but better because we baked them ourselves! Watch out, here come the newly created home-cook chefs! Also, they make the house smell super homey, are guaranteed hot, and are hygienic since we handle them ourselves. There is simply no comparison, especially when it comes to the convenience and comfort of being able to have them at home in such a fresh way!
It is not every day that we find something store bought that is as yummy as from a restaurant and that is easy to make at home.
